Chennai is an important center of the leather processing industry in India, where many foreign companies produce, but often under extremely poor and exploitative conditions.

Gopala Krishnan TR has worked in leather production for 38 years. After many years in various factories, he partnered with Madras Carry to establish his own small business. His craftsmanship and experience are two key pillars for product development and the high quality standards of our products. He employs two people in his small workshop in the city's leather district. All leather components are handcrafted and undergo rigorous quality control.

At home, he cares for his disabled son - one of the reasons why he was immediately enthusiastic about Madras Carry.
