How long does it take to make a Madras Carry bag?

MADRAS CARRY bags are lovingly handcrafted by our producers. I'm often asked: How long does it actually take to make one of these bags? That depends, of course, on the size of the bag and whether it has a lining or not. Often, a woman starts in the morning and takes the materials home as soon as her children come home from school. This way, she can look after them and continue working on it later at home. On average, it takes her about 3-4 days to complete a bag. If the bag has a lining, it's then taken to the sewing workshop. One of our six seamstresses needs a few more hours to sew the lining, and then the bag is finished.
