Care instructions

Our philosophy is to produce only high-quality and sustainable products that can be worn and used for many years, in order to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible. Therefore, we would like to give you a few care instructions for your madras carry products. With a little care and attention, your bag or basket will last for many years.

PLASTIC

Madras Carry products are made from recycled plastic, which typically requires very little care. However, you should avoid exposing your bag or basket to prolonged, intense sunlight. This can affect the color, impair the plastic's flexibility, and make it brittle.

Caution is advised when handling very sharp objects. These can cut the plastic wire from which Madras Carry products are woven. We also recommend not overloading the bags and baskets, despite their sturdiness.

For light soiling, you can wipe the bag or basket with a damp cloth. For heavier soiling, you can also rinse it under the shower.

INLAYS & COSMETIC BAGS

Our removable inner bags and cosmetic pouches are made of cotton with a water-repellent polyester lining. If they get dirty, you can easily hand wash them, using a small amount of mild detergent if needed.

LEATHER HANDLES AND LEATHER LOOPS

Leather is a natural material and changes over time. For smooth leather, we recommend applying leather conditioner (available from shoemakers) every 2-3 months to keep the leather supple and prevent it from drying out.

For suede, a waterproof suede care product is recommended, specifically for protection and moisture penetration. Caution: It's best to always test the leather care product on an inconspicuous area first before treating the entire leather surface.
